Fellow Ospreys!! Looking to get involved? The OCT has an array of fun opportunities to receive volunteer hours and valuable experience, as well as internships, practicum, field experience, and more. Please click on the following tabs to gain further information. To view OCT events please visit our upcoming events webpage.
The OCT offers an opportunity for UNF students to complete the necessary requirements to achieve UNF’s Leadership Certificate. Serving as a mentor to students with intellectual disabilities has proven to be a life changing experience to many UNF students. Learning about persons with intellectual disabilities first-hand serves as an indispensable experience that increases mentors’ occupational preparedness. Mentors will be exposed to the Americans with Disabilities Act Amended (which effects all industries including politics) and understand how the hiring of persons with disabilities can enhance the workplace. Past mentors have experienced personal enrichment, enhanced leadership skills, and a broadened understanding of human behavior from serving our students. Please take a look at the following options to see how we can help UNF achieve the Leadership Certificate. For further information on the UNF Leadership Certificate program please visit the ICVL website.

The OCT has a vast variety of opportunities for students to gain experience on campus. If you require experience in a field that is not listed, contact us and we can see what other options are available.
The On Campus Transition’s Annual Fraternity & Sorority Life Volunteer Competition was created to help boost OCT mentor activity and involvement on UNF’s Campus due to the strong influence that fraternities and sororities have in leading our student body overall. It is our belief that students who are heavily active in organizations on campus- such as fraternities & sororities- are making a healthy attempt to get the most out of their college experience. These are exactly the type of individuals that we seek to guide our students here at OCT.
We hope that UNF Greeks will set an example for the rest of the student body to follow: helping improve the campus, the community, and the lives of students in need while gaining useful life experience and receiving a sense of self-accomplishment that will result in consistent community service throughout life.
To summarize The Competition, Greek Organizations are each given the opportunity to allocate a team of mentors to the OCT. Each team will gather points based on the amount of mentors it comprises as well as how many hours those mentors accumulate. To participate in The Competition, each volunteering student MUST be in an official UNF PNHC/PC/IFC/MGC fraternity or sorority, and MUST apply to OCT through our normal mentor application process. Just be sure to write/type your Greek Letters on the top left corner of the application! The winner of the OCT’s Annual Fraternity & Sorority Life Competition will be announced at the Greek Awards Ceremony.
