EPI Admissions & Fees

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a nationally-or regionally-accredited college or university approved by the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE).  
  • Degrees from institutes outside of the United States must be validated by an agency such as Josef Sinly and Associates (http://www.jsilny.com/) 
  • If you currently are NOT employed as a teacher, you must be available during K-12 school hours throughout the duration of the school year for the field experience component of the EPI. 
  • DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JULY 31.

When you submit your application packet, please email Betty Bennett at bbennett@unf.edu so we’ll know your documents are pending approval in Admissions.  

 

1)    Complete an Application for Admission to the EPI Cohort.  

2)    Pay $30 application fee – NON-REFUNDABLE – must accompany the EPI Admission Application  

3)    Provide OFFICIAL transcripts  

a)    Your application will NOT be processed if your transcripts are not either sent directly from the issuing institution or unopened and stamped as OFFICIAL.  

b)    Your application will NOT be processed if you have not included transcripts from all colleges and/or universities you have attended whether or not a degree was earned. 

c)    If your degree(s) or course(s) taken is/are from UNF, you don’t need to send transcripts 

4)    Write a 100-200 word paragraph about “why I want to be a teacher.” 

Mail UNF EPI admissions application, OFFICIAL transcripts, and the registration fee (check or money order -- DO NOT send cash through the mail) to:

You may also drop it off in-person at One Stop Student Services located in UNF Hall (Building 53, Suite 1700). 


If you are paying the registration fee with cash, you will need to go to the Cashier’s Office (Building 53, Suite 1100). Tell them you are paying for application registration fee. The Cashier’s Office will give you a receipt that says “fee payment received”. Attach this receipt to your application and drop it off at One Stop (Suite 1700) which is located in the same building. Please be sure to mark on your envelope that it is an EPI application. Credit Cards are not accepted at the Cashier’s Office.  


 

    Program Fees

    EPI Program Fee: $2,200

     

    EPI Application Fee: $30

    Non-refundable & due with application.

     

    FOR-PD lab fee: $35

    Will be accessed if you have not taken and passed the FOR-PD course, Reading Competency 2.

     

    The EPI program fee DOES NOT include the cost of textbooks. (Estimated cost is $300). Textbooks are required and will be available for purchase through the UNF bookstore and/or other online venues.

     

    If accepted and you’re NOT teaching, you will be required to be fingerprinted at your expense by the school district where you will be doing your field experience. This is an EPI policy; and is required by the school districts.
