Immunization

Chickenpox (Varicella) Alert

Chicken Pox2 chickenpox cases have been diagnosed at Student Health Services. If you have previously had chickenpox, you are protected from getting the virus and need not worry. If you have received a chickenpox (varicella) vaccine in the past, you are very unlikely to contract the disease.

We suggest that all students review their immunization records. If you are unsure regarding your chickenpox vaccination status, you may:

  • Call your healthcare provider’s office.

  • Speak with your parents

  • Check military records, high school transcripts or health department forms.

As a reminder, the chickenpox vaccine was/is NOT a requirement for entrance to University of North Florida.
