Military and Veterans Resource Center
Welcome to the Military and Veterans Resource Center!
The MVRC was established in 2009 to serve as the primary point of contact for active duty military, veterans and their family members on campus. The center is committed to ensuring that military-affiliated students successfully make the transition from the military environment to campus life and are assisted in their progress toward completing their academic degree. The MVRC also serves as a resource to veteran employees, providing guidance and referrals to assist with coaching, mentoring, and integration into the campus community.
The center's overall goal is to deliver tangible tools and services to optimize academic success leading to graduation and employment opportunities. This effort involves collaboration with the following offices:

MVRC News
Students and staff members sorted snack donations and wrote letters to service members during Supplies for Soldiers on April 10, 2018. The drive was organized by the Military and Veterans Resource Center and
Volunteer Services in support of the
Greater Jacksonville Area USO. The snacks will be distributed to service members and their families as they travel through the airport USO Welcome Center. Thank you to everyone who donated, including the students of the
UNF Chemistry Club who handmade donations.

Ospreys, alumni, and community members can now order their own customized paver in Veterans Plaza! Veterans Plaza is a beautiful area of campus that proudly honors military veterans at UNF - and you can now become a permanent part of the space. Proceeds from the paver sales benefit the Military and Veterans Resource Center.

Texas Roadhouse at the St. Johns Town Center invited the Student Veterans of America UNF Chapter to fund raise during their “Friends and Family” opening in December 2017. The UNF SVA was able to raise $3,500 in support of their club due to the generosity of the diners and the Texas Roadhouse staff, who graciously donated all alcohol sales! Thank you Texas Roadhouse, and great work SVA!
Caron Johnson, Assistant Director of the Military and Veterans Resource Center, was recognized by the Division of Student Affairs for her excellent work ethic and commitment to UNF values during the 2017 Holiday Reception and Awards Presentation. Caron received the Values Award for being an exemplary example of Mutual Respect and Civility. Congratulations, Caron; well deserved!
The Military and Veterans Resource Center collected toy donations for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in fall 2017. Over two hundred toys were donated by student veterans, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, A&P staff members, alumni veterans and other groups on campus. The Toys for Tots program distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them holiday gifts.

The MVRC dedicated the Michael Ward and Jennifer Glock Patriot Outpost on September 19,2017. The MVRC common area was dedicated to donors Michael Ward and Jennifer Glock, who fund a scholarship for student veterans. The event featured remarks from President John Delaney, Director Bob Buehn and student scholarship recipients.

The MVRC, in conjunction with SBDC and the Coggin College of Business, was selected by Veterans Florida as one of six colleges and universities to participate in a statewide entrepreneurship program for veterans. The Veterans Florida Entrepreneurship Program offers tuition-free, online and on-campus instruction for free. Visit the Veterans Florida website to learn more.
