FSCJ Student Questions

What are access fees?

The access fees are listed below with a description and price per semester for each. The only fee that is not optional is the Shuttle Service Fee. All others are optional. These fees are subject to change if UNF local fees increase.

Student Health Services: $37/semester
This optional fee will allow you to access the UNF Student Health Center for routine medical services. Usual and customary charges for tests, x-rays or prescriptions will be the patient`s responsibility. We do not bill student insurance companies.

Recreation Fee $24.61/semester
FSCJ Students access to the following facilities: UNF Arena for raquetball and open recreation basketball, Fitness Center, Aquatic Center, Skate Park, Tennis Courts, and Outdoor 3-lane track.

Shuttle Service (Mandatory Fee) $47/semester
This mandatory fee will allow you to use the Osprey Connector. The Osprey Connector will transport you from one end of the campus to the other. Use the shuttle to get from parking lots to the campus core and back – and move around campus with ease. Each Housing Area has an Osprey Connector Shuttle Stop.
Why do I have to pay access fees and UNF students don’t?

Actually UNF students do pay these fees only they are all mandatory. They are assessed through their tuition. Since you are a residential student only and do not pay tuition at UNF we give you the option to select these services if you choose. The only one that is not an option is the Shuttle Service Fee.
When is payment due for the access fees?

Payment is due by the last day of drop/add for UNF
Where do I pay for my housing?

We prefer that you make payment online through your myWings account with an E-Check or with a credit card, other than VISA. PAYMENTS CAN NOT BE MADE WITH A VISA DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD. You can also make your payment at the Cashier’s Office at UNF Hall.
What is RAPP?
RAPP is an optional payment plan that divides your rent into eight equal installments beginning on August 1st and ending on February 1st. In order to participate in this program we will need the following:
- $100 processing fee.
- Signed RAPP contract.
Once we receive the above information and you meet with one of our accountants to discuss the details we will activate your RAPP. All of these forms are available on the financial page of the housing website.
I have Florida Prepaid Dormitory; can I use this to pay for my housing even though I’m not a student at UNF?

Yes, we will bill Florida Prepaid for your housing. Keep in mind that Florida Prepaid will only pay 100% for specific areas. See next question (#8) for specifics.
What type of room will Florida Prepaid pay for?
Historically, Florida Prepaid has approved payment for the following residential rooms:
- Double Occupancy in Osprey Cove
- Double Occupancy in Osprey Landing
- Double Occupancy in Osprey Hall
- 2 Bedroom (4 person) in Osprey Village
If you elect to live in a more expensive room, you would only need to pay the shortage that Florida Prepaid does not pay.
Can my Florida Prepaid Dormitory plan be used for the summer semester?

Florida Prepaid discourages using your plan for summer because it is a shorter semester and you will have to use a full credit of your Prepaid. It is better to use your credits toward the longer semesters. However, it can be used for summer if you choose by having the purchaser of the plan write a letter to Florida Prepaid asking them to approve using it during the summer. Once approved, we will bill them for your rent.
Can I live in an area that is not approved by Florida Prepaid?

Yes. We will bill at the highest rate they have approved and you will pay the shortage between the cost of an approved room and your assigned room cost.
My parents pay my bills. Can I have correspondence sent to them?

No. All correspondence from the Housing Office is sent to the residents at their campus mail box or through their UNF email address. One exception is your fall invoice which is sent to you at your address of record which you provide.
Can I pay my housing online through my myWings account?

Yes, you can pay with an E-Check or a credit card other than VISA. PAYMENTS CAN NOT BE MADE WITH A VISA DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD. To pay a portion, type over the amount that shows for your housing on your account with the amount you wish to pay.
I’m a new student and will be attending Summer B and Fall. Do I send in $300 with each contract?

No. Send in $300 with the first contract. We will apply $100 to the non-refundable processing fee and $200 will be applied to your rent once it is assessed to your account.
