Our Director, Pam Bell, joined the University of North Florida Child Development Research Center staff in August 1996 as Lead Teacher for Class Three. She has been the director since 199X. Ms. Bell has a B.A. degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and an M.A. in special Education from the University of North Florida. Ms. Bell also has her Advanced Director's Certificate and has been an adjunct professor at Florida State College of Jacksonville.

Sharon Miller, B.A.
Assitant Director

Sharon Miller is Assistant Director and previously worked at the CDRC from August 2003 through December 2004 as a lead teacher. Sharon has a B.A. in Sociology/Elementary Education from Bridgewater College and has worked in the Early Childhood field for over twenty years in both private and non-profit agencies. Before returning to the CDRC she worked with at-risk children at the Don Brewer Center in Jacksonville.

Jayne De La Rosa, B.S.
Bears Teacher

Ms. Jayne De La Rosa has her Bachelors degree from the University of Rhode Island in Family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. She received an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Rhode Island. She has her 45 hours from the Department of Children and Families training; Director's Credential with a VPK endorsement, and she has her Training Certificate from the Department of Children and Families. She has been trained in various topics in Early Childhood and Family Studies, a Lead VPK teacher, and an Assistant Director at accredited centers. All of these experiences have helped her to fully understand what Quality education means. She has also received formal training in "Conscious Discipline" which trains teachers to provide choices to children and to redirect children in a positive manner. Ms. Jayne has recieved "Teacher of The Year" at Alfurqun Academy in 2010. Ms. Jayne is currently attending Graduate School here at UNF for Special Needs Services.

Mahreen Mian, BBA, FTC in Pre-K through third grade and CDA

Ms. Mahreen Mian is the Center Supervisor and Lead Teacher in the Cardinals classroom. She has a Bachelor in Business Administration from University of North Florida and a second Bachelor in English Literature and Geography from Kinnaird College in Pakistan. She also has a Florida Teaching Certificate in Pre-k Primary through third grade and a National Child Development Associate (CDA). Ms. Mahreen has also completed her Director’s Credential with a VPK endorsement. Currently she is working on her Master in Health Administration. Along with a multitude of certificates and trainings in early childhood, Ms. Mahreen has also received formal training in "Conscious Discipline" which trains teachers to provide choices to children and to redirect children in a positive manner. Ms. Mian has assisted UNF faculty and staff in research related to curriculum and has also had the opportunity to present on various topics in Early childhood classes at UNF. In 2010 Ms. Mian received the Spot Award from UNF for her extraordinary leadership skills.

Anjum Naeem has a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Pakistan and has earned her National CDA since working here in the states. She has worked with children for 15 years and has served under numerous roles such as teacher, assistant teacher, and paraprofessional.

Roberta Neilly, B.A.
Dolphins Teacher

Roberta Neilly is the Dolphin's lead teacher. She previously worked at CDRC from August 2003 thru July 2006. She has a Masters and BA in Education and has worked for the Department of Education in the Virgin Islands for thirteen years. She started her teaching career in Florida as a headstart teacher. She has enjoyed working in the field of education for over 20 years.

Nancy Winckler-Zuniga, C.D.A.

Nancy Winkler-Zuniga has always been drawn to young children and has worked with them in a variety of settings for over thirty years. She studied Early Childhood education at Syracuse University before moving to Boston in 1981. She taught at-risk children in Title XX funded programs before moving on to Harvard Law School Childcare Center. During the 80s she and her husband moved to Belize where they established a small primary school. Since 2001, she has been back in the childcare field in Jacksonville and is pleased to be taking over as lead teacher in the Manatee Class.
