Tuition for out-of-state students is significantly more expensive than for in-state students. Thus, it is a great idea for students entering the program to apply for in-state residency as soon as possible. The department pays the additional fee for out-of-state students, but this will only be guaranteed for a single year. If funds are available we will gladly pick up subsequent years as well, but funds are seldom available (and the competition for the limited out-of-state tuition waivers is increasing).
live outside Florida, you may qualify for Academic Common Market (ACM), which
entitles you to in-state tuition and fees (Virginia is no longer participating
in ACM). Fourteen states within the Southern Regional Education Board
participate in ACM with UNF. Upon receiving an admission letter from UNF, it is
the student’s responsibility to contact the ACM representative in his or her
home state to apply for ACM and arrange the tuition and
fees based on residency.
