John Kantner

Dr. John Kantner joined the University of North Florida in 2013 as the Assistant Vice President for Research, and was appointed Associate Vice President for Research & Dean of the Graduate School in 2014. Previously, he was Vice President for Academic & Institutional Advancement at the School for Advanced Research, an independent research center for the social sciences and humanities. From 1999 to 2006, Dr. Kantner was an associate professor in the Department of Anthropology & Geography at Georgia State University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara  in 1999, where he studied archaeology, anthropology, geography, geochemistry, and evolutionary theory. Dr. Kantner's research focuses on the archaeology of ancient societies, with a particular interest in the processes through which complex social and political institutions emerged throughout  human  history.

Amanda Pascale

Dr. Amanda Pascale came to UNF in August of 2011. Prior to joining the Graduate School in 2014, she served as Associate Director in the Office of Admissions. She also currently adjunct teaches Master's level students in the Higher Education program for the College of Education and Human Services. Dr. Pascale earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration as well as a Master's of Science in College Student Personnel and Student Affairs from the University of Tennessee. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. She is a member of multiple national organizations and has authored several published research articles and book chapters relating to student success, recruitment, and retention in higher education.

Ada Urbizu is from Orlando, Fla. Prior to joining The Graduate School in January 2012, she took a 16 year hiatus from the business sector to raise her three children as a stay-at-home mom. She volunteers at Christ the King Catholic School and is looking forward to growing with the UNF family.

Paige is from Illinois and graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's of Science. She relocated to Jacksonville in 2008 where she immediately joined UNF. Prior to joining the Graduate School in 2005, she worked in the Student Financial Services office and then Enrollment Services processing. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, entering her car in car shows, and doing anything that is creative and artistic.

Britt is from Wisconsin and graduated from UNF in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations. Prior to joining the Graduate School, she worked in Undergraduate Admissions and traveled around the state and nation recruiting High School students to come to UNF. She is currently working on her Masters of Educational Leadership and will graduate in April 2016. In her free time, she loves to watch the Packers with the North Florida Packer Backers, continue working with her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, travel, and spend time with family and friends

Peter first joined the University of North Florida in February 2009 after serving as an officer in the U.S. Army for over 30 years, including 23 years of overseas duty. Prior to joining the Graduate School, he worked in Enrollment Services both as an admissions coordinator and a representative in the University's Welcome Center. He posses both an undergraduate and master's degree and has extensive teaching experience in higher education, having taught German language courses in the past at the United States Military Academy, Florida State College in Jacksonville and UNF, as well as graduate level security topics at the prestigious George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch, Germany. Peter is also an avid soccer fan. During his younger days, while stationed in Europe, he played semi-professionally for nearly a decade and continues to support Bayern Munich, "the best club team in Europe".

Tamara hails from the beautiful island of St. Kitts and joined the UNF family in August of 2015 while pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Advanced Teaching and Learning. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Marketing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and has done extensive work teaching public speaking to children and adults. Additionally, Tamara has 13 years of experience in radio and television. Advancing the ethos, "just be happy!", Tamara embraces the deep seated belief that with a healthy mind in a healthy body, one can increase one's mental agility while withstanding the day to day physical demands of the world of work. As a former collegiate track and field athlete, Tamara is a fitness maven who is driven and continues to help support young people in the Jacksonville area. Tamara enjoys diversity within different settings and embraces the opportunities to learn something new every day.

Ben Nasrallah

Ben is originally from Jacksonville, Fla. and took his talents to Greenville, SC. where he studied at Furman University earning a Bachelor of Arts in History. Ben returned to Jacksonville in 2012 and worked for City Year Jacksonville, an AmeriCorps program. Ben is now a graduate student completing his Master of Education in School Counseling and will graduate in 2016. Ben loves to play soccer and is a huge Jaguar fan!
