Saving Your Work on Library Computers &
on UNF's SkyDrive.
When Logged in with Your N#
As of January 7, 2013, the Library computers no longer automatically map
the H Drive/WebDrive/Andromeda. This old student file storage system is going away on June 1, 2013 but students will have until that date to remove
any files from their H Drive they wish to retain. Beginning Spring
2013, students should save their files in their SkyDrive. In the meanwhile, you can access the H Drive using the
following instructions:
Instructions for Windows:
- From the desktop or Start menu, right-click on Computer.
- Click Map Network Drive.
- On the Map Network
Drive screen, click "Connect to a Web site that you can use to store
your documents and pictures", and then click Next.
- Click Choose a custom network location, and then click Next.
- In the "Internet or network address" field, enter the following URL, and then click Next.
- Here is the URL to supply: https://myfiles.unf.edu/StuUser/xx/UNFID
- xx = last two of user's N number
- UNFID = user's actual N number
In
nstructions for Mac:
- Click the desktop
- Click "Go" at the top
- Click "Connect to Server"
- Type in the URL for that field : https://myfiles.unf.edu/StuUser/xx/UNFID
- xx = last two of user's N number
- UNFID = user's actual N number
When Logged in as a Guest
- If you log in as a guest and save to the C: drive or the desktop, your work is not safe and is irrecoverable after reboot or logout.
- Please save to a flash/thumb drive.
- All workstations reboot after 30 minutes of inactivity. There is a seven minute warning before reboot.
- Guest login: username=libguest | password=library
Saving to a Thumb/Flash Drive
- Click the Microsoft Office button at the top left of the screen.
- Select "Save".
- Click "Computer". You will see all the drives on the right of the screen.
- You will see "removable disk" or the brand name of your flash drive.
Student SkyDrive
- UNF's new student email includes SkyDrive.
- You can store your documents, photos, etc., and it is yours for life!
