Exhibit: Library of America Project 2012-06-07 Founded in 1979 with the support of seed money from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Ford Foundation, the Library of America is a nonprofit publishing venture whose objective is to restore and pass on to future generations our nation’s literary heritage. In the years since its inception it has gained recognition by both scholars and the general public as the national edition of our country’s literature. The display runs through the months of June and July and is located in the large display case outside Special Collections on the 1st floor.
