BioOne provides coverage of high-impact bioscience research journals and features content on a wide variety of today’s most pressing topics, including global warming, stem cell research, and ecological and biodiversity conservation. The database covers over 170 journals with over 100,000 articles online. |
| February 25 | Naxos Music Library and Naxos Jazz now searchable in OneSearch Naxos Music Library is the world´s largest online classical music
library. Currently, it offers streaming access to more than 82,210 CDs
with more than 1,181,800 tracks. Naxos Music Library Jazz provides online streaming access to jazz CDs from hundreds of artists. The addition of Naxos matches to OneSearch search results means quick and easy access to over 100,000 streaming CDs. |

| June 11 | New Exhibit in Special Collections "Two Jacksonville Legends: James
Weldon Johnson & Eartha M. M. White," features rare materials from Special
Collections relating to White and Johnson. Eartha White was a contemporary and
friend of a wide range of prominent artists, authors, social welfare activists,
and political leaders. The exhibit features correspondence from Johnson
regarding his friend Eartha White, a photograph of his brother, John Rosamund
Johnson, and letters from Grace Nail Johnson, widow of James Weldon Johnson.
Copies of his notable works, The Autobiography of an Ex-Coloured Man,
God's Trombones, and Along This Way, are also on display. The
exhibit is open in the Special Collections Reading Room (first floor) from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday through July 31, 2012. |

resources that focus on the history, peoples, and heritage of the Caribbean

photographer, will talk about his interest in the photography of historic
architecture. Taylor, a UNF alumnus (BA 1974, MBA 1986), recently donated to
the Library over 7,000 of his photographic images of historical sites in the
United States, predominately in Florida and
neighboring states. The presentation is part of the current Library exhibit, “Jacksonville
Architecture: In Print and Photography.” This event will take place in the
Special Collections Reading Room, Thomas G. Carpenter Library, Building 12,
first floor on February 16 at 2 p.m. Free and open to the public. |
