No more physical passes! Which included affixed decals, hang tags and paper permits. As of Wednesday, August 16, 2017, Parking and Transportation Services has shifted to a virtual permit and license plate recognition system to facilitate parking and enforcement. This new system requires you to register your license plate to your purchased permit and the license plate becomes the virtual permit. For the program to be efficient, all vehicles must park "nose-in" in order for our enforcement tag recognition cameras to quickly scan the tags.
If you purchased a valid UNF virtual parking permit (Daily, Annual or Term) it will be linked up to your license plate and all you have to display is your state-issued disability parking placard to park in a disabled parking space. Please be aware that all disability spaces located in the core of campus require a minimum of a Blue parking permit.
If you have a State issued disability placard and need a daily virtual parking permit, please visit one of the following drive up Pay-by-Plate kiosks, located on this map. Drive up kiosks include #101 and #471 and these will sell $5 daily virtual permits and allow you to park in both Blue and Gray Lots. The other drive up kiosk is #181, located in Lot 18, which cost $2 and allows parking in Gray Lots only. Please refer to the above mentioned link to verify designated Blue and Gray Lots.
The shuttle buses are equipped with wheel chair ramps and are ADA compliant.
If you need special accommodations, please contact Shuttle Management at (904) 620-5718 for assistance. We will attempt to make all reasonable accommodations.
UNF Temporary Disability Virtual Permits may be requested through Parking & Transformation Services building (52); first building on the right of the I-295 campus entrance. Parking Services can issue a temporary UNF disability virtual permit for up to thirty (30) days for the following reasons:
All exception requests for a "Blue" permit based on medical issues will need to be cleared through the DRC. If the DRC approves the exception then Parking Services will honor the decision and sell or upgrade to a "Blue" permit. If the person no longer requires the temporary State disability parking permit, the person may down grade back to a "Gray" permit and can recover the cost difference.
All requests for a temporary disability parking permit for more than 30 days are advised to apply for the State of Florida disability permit. To park in a valid disability space, please make sure your purchased virtual permit matches the correct permit to Lot category (along with displaying the disability placard). For example: If a person parks on the 1st floor of a parking garage in a disability parking space then they should have purchased a Faculty/Staff permit category and display their placard.
