To bring high-quality, customized education to as many of the region’s businesses and individuals as possible, we strive to keep fees low. Private support is essential to develop new programs and expand our facilities.
The Dean’s Fund responds to annual operating needs of the Division of Continuing Education.
To meet the growing demand for senior educational opportunities, funding is needed to expand the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
Customized Learning Solutions such as business consulting and custom training complement a wide range of noncredit programs to improve individual and organizational performance. Each year we offer new courses help businesses boost their bottom lines through the latest technology and practices. Professional Development and Career Training Opportunities continue to expand. A new Executive Education for Leaders Institute offers seminars for leaders of nonprofits and government agencies. The division continues to reach more than 1,200 Greater Jacksonville business, administrative and training professionals each year with new events such as a southeastern human resource conference. New courses also enhance our project management, logistics, communication and management and supervision programs as well as our Legal Studies Institute, which prepares leaders in the fast-growing paralegal field. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute has grown to more than 1,000 members. Founded in 2006 and again in 2011 through gifts from the Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco, the institute offers courses, trips and lectures to individuals age 50 and up. Thought-provoking experiences in everything from literature to technology respect and encourage the vitality of seasoned adult learners. In 2008 alone, the Division of Continuing Education served 10,500 participants from 1,500 different organizations with 793 educational opportunities. Participants benefit from 30 years of award-winning experience and the resources of a major metropolitan university. “We have partnered with the Division of Continuing Education to provide customized training programs in support of our lifelong learning process.
