Since the University of North Florida opened its doors in 1972 as the only major public university in a region that serves three million people, it has been critical to the First Coast's growth and success. The University has grown from 2,000 students to 16,600 students in 54 undergraduate, 26 master’s and three doctoral programs. More importantly, it boasts an alumni family 59,000 strong, 62 percent of whom stay and work in North Florida, contributing to every aspect of life. They have the power to transform because the University has maintained the individual attention, small class sizes, hands-on opportunities and academic quality that are key to a truly life-changing education. This mission of transformation has gained incredible momentum under the leadership of President John Delaney. Since he took the helm in 2003, several academic programs are gaining national attention, new master’s and doctoral programs have been created, new facilities have recently been completed in response to student growth, and the sports program has moved to NCAA Division I. The continuing support of individuals and corporations is essential. The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine have identified UNF as one of the nation’s best educational values among public universities—and your support of The Power of Transformation will enable us to continue to enhance academic quality while keeping costs within the reach of Florida students. Please join us as we strive to raise $110 million to enhance all aspects of the University. When you support UNF, you support North Florida ... and beyond.
