Fall 2015 Senior Service Award

Kyle Trenor

Kyle Trenor

The UNF Alumni Association selected Kyle Trenor as the recipient of the Senior Service Award for the fall 2015 graduating class. The UNF Alumni Association selects a graduating senior each semester for outstanding service to the University and the community through volunteerism.

Kyle is graduating today from the Coggin College of Business with a bachelor of business administration majoring in both finance and financial services with a minor in economics. Kyle has been a stellar student while at UNF, receiving both Florida Bright Futures and Presidential Scholarships. While maintaining a 3.42 grade point average, Kyle shined in leadership positions in several student clubs, obtained competitive internship opportunities, and even started his own nonprofit organization.

Kyle is a bright and articulate individual, and he has achieved great things at UNF. In the fall of 2014, Kyle began serving as a Coggin College of Business Student Ambassador. Coggin Ambassadors play an integral role in the execution of programs presented by the Career Management Center and the Coggin College of Business. By participating in the program, Kyle not only gained the opportunity to network with peers and business professionals, but also the opportunity to represent one of UNF’s six prestigious colleges. Kyle also serves the Coggin College of Business by tutoring economics for fellow students, and acts as a student research assistant in the Economics Department. Kyle is also a financial analyst and an economist for the University's student lead investment fund of over $1 million.

In addition to serving his College, peer leadership is also a strong characteristic of Kyle’s volunteerism while at UNF. Kyle has served as a member and office-holder of numerous clubs such as the Financial Investment Society, the Economics Society, and the Financial Planning Association. Kyle is grateful for the opportunities he’s had to be an engaged student at UNF- particularly because he hadn't always been so involved. Kyle has taken on every opportunity to become the best version of himself possible and to help as many fellow Ospreys as he could along the way.

In the community, Kyle serves as a Boy Scout of America Eagle Scout, takes care of animals at the Jacksonville Human Society, prepares meals for the homeless at the Sulzbacher Center, and volunteers with The Players Championship. Even more impressive, Kyle, along with a friend and fellow Osprey, founded his own nonprofit organization, Change a Life Charity. This charity was created to further the missions and resources of other local organizations that provide basic necessities to those without in Jacksonville. While maintaining a demanding course schedule, part-time employment, internships, and campus involvement, Kyle has successfully held food and clothing drives for this organization and plans to continue to grow this organization after graduation.

Kyle’s many involvements and contributions reflect that he is a remarkable Osprey. He is a true example of a passionate, conscientious and driven student leader and a great representative of the University of North Florida. He shared that leaving UNF is not the end; it’s only the beginning and he’s excited to continue to spread his wings.
