Why UNF?

The University of North Florida (UNF) is a diverse four-year fully accredited public institution serving more than 16,000 students.  Our campus core is nestled among 1,300 acres that include nature and wildlife areas.

The Department of Housing and Residence Life supports the mission of the University and the Division of Student Affairs by creating a positive living and learning community with the best facilities, services, programs and customer service for our students. Our responsive staff strive daily to enhance student academic and personal development by fostering a sense of respect for self, others and the community, placing an emphasis on diversity, encouraging personal and civic responsibility, while providing opportunities for leadership development.

Over 100 full-time, part-time and student staff are responsible for providing educational programs and services including 13 residence halls and apartments. The residence halls and apartments form smaller distinct and unique areas throughout the University of North Florida campus. Approximately 3000 primarily undergraduate students live in our residence halls, suites, apartments and the Osprey Fountains, our newest 1,000 bed residence hall that offers amenities including: 24 hour/7 days a week reception desk, game room, fitness center with aerobics studio, convenience store, theme lounges, outdoor active pool, outdoor lazy river pool, lighted tennis courts, lighted volleyball court, lighted basketball court, putting green, lighted outdoor running track, outdoor swings, barbeque and picnic areas.

The St. Johns Town Center and Outlet Mall is located less than a mile from campus. Less than ten miles to the east is the beach and ten miles to the north is downtown Jacksonville which features museums, clubs, dining, theaters, concerts and sports. Historic Saint Augustine is just 20 minutes south of campus and includes beaches, museums, historic landmarks, ghost tours and the St. Augustine Prime Outlets. UNF is two and half hours from Orlando's theme parks.
