ANT 4620 Language, Culture, and Society

 

This course use the concepts and techniques of contemporary linguistics to analyze, describe, and explain the relationships between language, culture, and society.

 

Important: This is not an introductory level course. The 2006-07 UNF Undergraduate Catalog (page 142) lists a prerequisite for this course: LIN 3010 or equivalent, or permission of instructor. If you have not already had an introductory linguistics course, you are strongly advised to see me before you register for this course. If you remain in the course, I will expect you to be prepared to do work appropriate for a senior student in anthropology.
