Above is the starting page for a FirstSearch session. On this screen you can view a list of all available databases, a list of databases by topic, and even have FirstSearch suggest which databases would be best based on the topic you wish to search. You can begin your search of the available databases by entering a topic into the input box provided or jump to an advanced search by selecting a database from the pull-down menu next to the "Jump" option.

The search panel is the basic starting point for a FirstSearch session and will be the primary workspace for searches and results once a researcher begins and follows a search into any of the databases. Once a search is initiated and results are returned, additional options for navigating the system are made available in the green file folder portion of the screen just above the search panel.
